How to duplicate a link with all its settings in Papermark?
When you share documents with several recipients, you often need multiple links with almost identical settings. Instead of rebuilding the configuration each time, you can duplicate any link with one click and Papermark will copy over every property.
Link duplication works on all plans, for both document links and data room links.
What gets copied when you duplicate a link
Duplicating preserves every setting attached to the original link:
Find the link you want to copy and click the three-dot menu on the right.
Choose Duplicate.
A new link appears in the list immediately, with (copy) appended to its name. You can rename it, tweak a setting if needed, and share the new URL.
Step-by-step: duplicate a data room link
Open the data room you want to share.
Click the Links tab inside the data room.
Click the three-dot menu next to any link.
Choose Duplicate.
The duplicate keeps any group permissions, folder visibility rules, and index settings that were attached to the original.
When to use duplication
Multiple investors with the same NDA and watermark: duplicate one preconfigured link per recipient so you can track each viewer separately while keeping settings identical.
A/B testing access controls: duplicate a link and change only one setting (password vs. email verification, for example) to compare behavior.
Reusable templates per use case: keep a "template link" with your standard security settings and duplicate it whenever you need a fresh URL.
Replacing an expired link: duplicate the original instead of recreating everything from scratch, then delete or expire the old one.
Duplication vs. link presets
Link duplication and link presets both reduce repetitive setup work, but they solve different problems.
Approach
Best for
Duplicate
One-off copies based on an existing link you already have
Preset
Repeated link creation with the same settings across many documents and data rooms
If you find yourself duplicating the same link more than two or three times, convert it into a link preset instead. Presets are reusable across every document and data room in your account.
